First Aid Training
According to OSHA regulations, “In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render first aid. Adequate first aid supplies shall be readily available.” In other words, first aid training is a must for many Southern California workplaces in order to stay in compliance with Federal regulation. Even if a clinic or hospital is in close proximity, first aid training for employees is a smart idea. - Under the direct supervision of persons who have the knowledge, training and experience to train operators and evaluate their competence; and
- [Consisting] of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive computer learning, video tape, written material), practical training (demonstrations performed by the trainer and practical exercises performed by the trainee) and evaluation of the operator’s performance in the workplace.
